TRAINING

Training courses for 2022

We aim to run beginners courses and taster sessions during the summer for anyone seriously interested in taking up this sport or simply wanting to 'have a go'. So far, we have two beginners courses planned as listed below.

Unfortunately, there is a backlog due to training being severely curtailed over the last two years, and the number of people on the waiting list potentially fills both courses. However, you may register your interest and go on the waiting list in case not all the places are taken up and one becomes available.

No previous experience is required to attend any of our courses or taster sessions, though there are certain restrictions regarding age.
All equipment will be provided and training will be given, or supervised, by Archery GB qualified coaches.

Further information about our beginners courses can be found via the Course Details link opposite.

Successful completion of a beginners course, either with us or at another approved establishment, is a pre-requisite to becoming a shooting member of the Club.

Outdoor Course 1 A two week beginners course on Saturdays 30th April & 7th May (both days must be attended)
Contact the Training Officer at to reserve a place.
Sorry, course full, see note above!

Outdoor Course 2 A two week beginners course on Saturdays 23rd & 30th July (both days must be attended).
Contact the Training Officer at to reserve a place
Sorry, course may be full, see note above!

|Next course The next course will probably not be until April 2023
If you cannot wait that long, then try www.archerygb.org for another local club.

Taster sessions We plan to run two 1-2 hour Taster sessions during the summer subject to demand. These will be on the Thursday evenings of 23rd June and 4th August from 6:30pm. Contact the Training Officer at to reserve a place.

Have-a-go days Our have-a-go days, open to the 'walk-in' public, are only held in conjunction with NFSG school events. The school is holding its bi-annual Farm Day on 11th June, at which we hope to run a have-a-go stall.
